14. Dirt is then removed all the way to the footing of the foundation.

15. The drain tile (if present) will now be opened to determine the condition, repairs are made to tile if needed.

16. The crack in the wall is sealed with a non - hardening material called ‘bentonite’, this sealed again with a polyethylene cover, with caulking all around the sides.

17. The next step is to install the waterproofing membrane over the area of the wall that has been sealed. The membrane is fastened with anchors to the wall, strips across the top and sides and sealed once again with caulking.

18. The drain tile and the bottom of the membrane are then covered with clean drain stone.

21. A sump liner is then installed in the lowest point of the basement floor following the slope of the property.

22. Drain tile, installed along the footing is sloped towards and connected to the sump liner. The drain tile is then covered with drain stone.

23. The waterproofing membrane is installed from a point just above grade level and continues down and covers the drain tile.

26. Soil is excavated down to the footing, (drain system can be repaired at this point if it is necessary).

27. The next step is to cover the drain tile with drainage stone .

28. Waterproofing membrane is then installed and also covered with drain stone.

31. The entire foundation is covered by the waterproofing membrane, from grade level down to the footing of the walls.

34. The membrane has rows of dimples so that when it is fastened to your foundation wall water will , with the aid of gravity, travel down the membrane and to the drain tile.

35. This is the reason for the bottom of the membrane overlapping the drain tile.
