2. Audience Feedback
• For our audience feedback we showed three
people our production. After viewing we
interviewed them each separately on a sound
file and they gave us their feedback through
opinions of what we could improve and what
we did well. The audience feedback is posted
above in the form a sound clip, listen to all
three to gain a full understanding of the
general feedback the three candidates gave.
3. Audience Feedback
• In terms of positive feedback what was said about the
positives of our films, were generally achievements in
conventions and themes. In achieving the conventions for
our film, I feel is important, in this case we have captured
horror and thriller conventions. I think this is an almost
compulsory aspect as the conventions have to fit the genre
of a film. This meant that the overall aspects (themes,
camera shots, mise-en-scene, narrative etc.) we had
achieved in creating them to be conventional, at this point
it’s just focusing on the more specific aspects now. By
achieving this it means that we can focus on more technical
improvements rather than the conventional improvements.
4. Audience Feedback
• One specific feature which gained positive
feedback was the mode and tone of the film.
This was achieved particularly with lighting, I
felt the lighting was an important aspect to
get right, considering that my product last
year had issues with the lighting losing me
marks. As mentioned the lighting helped
define the narrative to the audience, without
it being too obvious I felt this was definitely an
overall success.
5. Audience Feedback
• In regards to camera shots it was also
generally positive feedback, we had
conventional and a wide range of shots. From
audience feedback I gained the idea that the
shots we used were conventional to real
horror films. For example one candidate said
the pov shot’s were used were particularly
effective.
6. Audience feedback
• In terms of improvements we could make
generally there were a couple of pointers given.
Firstly the opening scene of the film was
criticized, one of the people we interviewed
specifically said that he believes the establishing
scenes could be a bit longer. I think its vital that
we get the opening scenes right as its a key
feature of our narrative. Based on this criticism
we need to improve the opening part of the
narrative, either we add scenes into the opening
of our film or we re edit the opening of the film
completely.
7. Audience Feedback
• Also one of the candidates we interviewed felt
we could of included a wider range of shots.
Again I think it is empirical that we have a
wide range of shots as it will improve the mark
of our production. This meant that we needed
to film again to get another shot selection for
our film, more shots we could get include,
birds eye, shallow depth, tracking etc.
8. Audience Feedback
• Generally I feel satisfied with the audience
feedback, there were a lot of positives, as well
as clear criticisms and helpful feedback we can
use to improve our production. We can now
take the feed back and apply it to our
production further improvements, but
generally the production is at a high standard.
