Portrayals of George Washington depict a courageous spirit.
Washington was termed, “the Father of his Country” by an unnamed Germanic publication in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1778, a term that stuck as many people know him by this famous
moniker today (Pennypacker, 1904, p. 267)
Washington’s false teeth were partly made from the tusk of a hippo (Weinberger, 1948; see
also; Hamarneh, 1972; Pennypacker, 1904; Sognnaes, 1959).
