HISTORY OF WIKIPEDIA
Wikipedia was launched on January 15, 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry
Sanger.
Larry Sanger used the name Wikipedia because a wiki is, “a website that
allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users”
and the Hawaiian word for quick.
Wikipedia received a lot of attention in 2006 by the print media, including
Time Magazine.
It started to rapidly grow and millions of people around the world started
using it.

WIKIPEDIA OVERVIEW
“Wikipedia is a free, open content online encyclopedia
created through the collaborative effort of a community of
users known as Wikipedians . Anyone registered on the
site can create an article for publication; registration is
not required to edit articles. The site's name comes from
wiki , a server program that enables anyone to edit Web
site content through their Web browser”.

WIKIPEDIA DESCRIPTION
Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia where you can find out a lot of
information on many different subject matters. The only negative part is
anymore can write or edit an article on Wikipedia therefore we do not
know if everything on the website is reliable information but if we verify
information from other places we can figure out if the information is
accurate.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx0LiFmB7IQ
The user problems it solves are learning new information, being able to
write articles and publishing them on the internet for free, and having
the access to edit articles if they are not correct.
The audience Wikipedia is intended for is anyone who wants to read, write,
or edit articles about many things on the internet. Wikipedia is available
in many different languages therefore people all over the world can use
it.

The term “Web 2.0” was created by Darcy DiNucci and later Tim O’Reilly
made it popular at the O’Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference that happened
in late 2004.
