Committee membership
The following were re-elected as officers by the AGM
Angela Upton – SCIE (Social Care Institute for Excellence) stood down as
chair due to her impending early retirement. The committee thanked her for all
her hard work over the years. Sally Patalong Coventry University took over as
the new chair.
Heather Dawson – LSE Library (Secretary)
Jennie Grimshaw - British Library stood down as Treasurer due to her
impending retirement but remained on the committee as an ordinary member.

A thorough report and statement of accounts for the year up to march 2013
was presented by Jennie Grimshaw. This has been verified by the
independent financial examiner John Helm ACA and was approved by the
AGM
Income
Corporate and personal membership fees and sale of ALISS Quarterly extra
copies totalled £4361 and so covered the cost of producing the journal
(£3,691). Printing costs of the journal were significantly reduced by a decision
to cut the number of copies produced to 150 from 200. The 2013 Summer
conference made a surplus of £1,460, an increase from £608 in 2012.
Expenditure on the AGM totalled £1,289 comprising £75 in prizes for ALISS
Quarterly best articles, £1138 for catering and £76 speakers’ expenses.
Expenditure on the Summer Conference consisted of £628 for catering (the
room was free) and £62 travelling expenses. Expenditure on the Christmas
Event consisted of £184 for room hire, £94 for speakers’ expenses and £15
for refreshments.
Office costs consisted of £50 for Finance Coordinator technical support and
£384 for accounting advice and assistance.
Cash at bank at 31 March 2013 amounted to £8,135.
