Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating Jesus Christ's resurrection. It falls on the first Sunday after the full moon following the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox. Common Easter symbols include eggs, hot cross buns, lambs, and rabbits bringing eggs. Traditions vary by country but include lighting candles in church, exchanging decorated eggs, children finding chocolate eggs, and outdoor meals of lamb and bread.

Easter
1. Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the Resurrection
of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that happened on the third
day after Good Friday, the day of his crucifixion. The day of
Resurrection is called Easter Sunday.
The cross is a symbol of crucifixion
and Resurrection of Christ. In some
countries, especially in the UK, during Easter season, people eat
biscuits called “hot cross buns”.
The lamb is another Easter symbol associated with Jesus. He is
often referred to, in scriptures, as the “Lamb of God” who
sacrifices his life for all mankind's eternal life.
"Hot cross buns"
Lights, candles and bonfires mark celebrations in many
countries. Roman Catholics often put the candles in the church out on Good Friday and
light them again on Easter Day.
Eggs are a symbol of the new life that returns to nature at Easter
time. The custom of exchanging eggs began long before Easter
was celebrated. It was a custom of the Egyptians and the
Persians. They exchanged eggs decorated in Spring colours.
In England, in the 1800's they began writing messages and dates
on their eggs and exchanging them with friends and loved ones.
Another symbol of Easter in some countries is the rabbit: in
Germany and in the States they say that the Easter Bunny
brings the eggs on Easter Sunday.
In Italy children usually receive chocolate eggs on
Easter: in the morning parents usually spread these
eggs all around the house, and children go look for
them when they wake up. Chocolate eggs usually
contain a small surprise. The same tradition also
exists in France.
In Greece, there are outdoor banquets on Easter
Sunday. People prepare barbecued lamb, eggs, bread, An Italian "Uovo di
salads, and Easter cake, and spread all this delicious Pasqua" (Chocolate Easter
food on long tables for everyone to enjoy.
Happy Easter to everyone!
