We all get the email reminding us to fill out the STaR chart each year. The questions can seem vague and confusing. Why is it important for me to take time out of my busy day to fill it out?
Today we are going to talk about the basic purpose and structure of the STaR chart, the statewide results, and where CHHS falls.
The TexasSTaR chart can be found at the link. It is used as a self assessment for campuses.
Teaching & Learning involves the student-centered use of technology in the classroom. Web-based lessons are a part of this category.
This category involves the content, method, and availability of professional development. Teachers’ abilities are also included in this area.
This area includes vision, planning, and budgeting by leadership.
This area involves the student-to-computer ratio, tech support, availability, and distance learning capability.
There is a slight decrease in scores from 2008 to 2011.
CHHS has the same rank as the statewide averages in each category.
