how to describe
characters
with Lazy Jack
We learn...
How to describe characters
1. How is he or she like?
 Choose an adjective.
Example: Jack is lazy.
Jack is a lazy boy.
2. Think: Is he/she ALWAYS like that?
 If not:
1. At the beginning, _______ is…
2. Sometimes, _________ is…
3. At the end, _________ is…
Example: At the beginning, Jack is lazy…
Choose a character and think about him/her.
How to describe characters
3. Why do you know he/she is like that?
 Choose a connector and justify your choice for the
adjective.
Example: At the beginning, Jack is lazy because he doesn’t
help his mother.
4. When you finish your description for each
adjective, you can write longer sentences or
paragraphs by using connectors and openers.
Example:
At the beginning, Jack is lazy because he does not help his
mother but, when he works for other people, he is very hard-
working. Also, he is obedient because he always does what
her mother says.
