As I was researching this, I was gathering notes and notes and notes about how to structure the talk. I had lots of info in lots of categories, but how to organise it? It was only once I got busy with post its that it began to fall into place

The suffragette movement was in full flow. It would be another year before large protests and marches in New York. And many many years before anything approaching equality would be achieved.
In 1914, we were stuck with a male-dominated society. And Brinton stuck to those attitudes in spades.
