involved in the conduct of Management
Development Programmes for training
of Doctors, Nurses and Paramedicals,
from its inception in 1987.
3. Main OBJECTIVES
To promote scientific management of hospital
and advancement of health care system so as to
make it rational, responsive and cost efficient,
both to consumer and providers.
To promote the development of high quality
hospital care in the community and country so as
to provide a satisfactory environment to the
patient and also to the doctor for clinical
research.
4. To update the knowledge and skills of personnel
involved in health administration for the
management of these Institutions through
continuing education programs.
To create parameters of standards of teaching
and training in the field of hospital
administration and accreditation of such
institution.
To promote research in the field of hospital
administration and to appropriately disseminate
research findings.

7. JAHA – AHA
The Journal of Academy of Hospital
Administration is being well received and has
brought fresh air and current thoughts to the
publications on Hospital Administration in the
country.
It is being published every six months and is sent
to all members of AHA [free of Cost].

under the umbrella of AHA.
9. CREDENTIALS -AHA
Established in 1987 AHA was the first
Institution to start PG Diploma
programmes in India after award of
approval from MOHFW, Govt. of India
in Healthcare Management. Todate
nearly 500 students have been trained.
10. CREDENTIALS -AHA
Organized PGDHHM programme in collaboration
with IGNOU [2000-2008] and trained more than
4,000 students all over the country.
Largely responsible for launching the NABH
Programme in India [Draft Standards initially
prepared by AHA].
AHA is registered by National Accreditation
Board for Education and Training [NABET],
QCI, Government of India as Consultant
Organization Registration NO: NC0702.
11. Trained more than 800 Medical Officers:
200 from Gujarat Government,
37 from Kerala Government,
25 from Delhi Government, and
78 from Karnataka State Government.
In addition, other candidates from various private
and corporate hospitals in Quality Management
Accreditation of Healthcare Organization
[QM&AHO] – 6 months Distance Learning
Programme.
12. GREEN BELT LEAN SIX SIGMA PROGRAMME FOR
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
AHA launched Lean Six Sigma programme during the
year conducted one programme attended by five
participants.
PGDHL PROGRAMME (Law)
The programme has already been launched in the year
2009 [August batch] with 10 candidates.
Registration opened for 2013 batch.

13. AHA conducted a number of Management
Development Programmes [12 days duration]
during the years 2003 to 2005 and trained more
than 300 CMOs/ CDMOs/ Medical Officers through
World Bank Project of UPHSDP.
