1. THEME (KOPITIAM)
The theme that I had chosen for my coffee booklet is food culture. Among the
choices that had given, I decided to do research on Kopitiam about its historical,
architectural and social aspects. The area of kopitiams that I had visited is within the
area of Subang jaya. During the research, I had visited 5 Kopitiams which is Restoan
Sri S, Restoran Nam Yiang, Hailam Kopitiam, Restoran Foh Foh and Restoran
Unlimited. Basically, Kopitiam is a coffee shop found in southeast areas, patronised
for meals and beverages. Kopitiam mostly visited by the Chinese customers for
having their breakfast and afternoon tea in Malaysia. Kopitiam serves variety type of
drinks such as Milo, coffee, Tea, Horlik, oatmeal water drinks and etc. On the other
hands, it also servers foods like egg, toast with kaya, Pau and etc. Customers prefer to
go Kopitiam as it serves cheaper which not exceed RM 10 per person and they like to
read newspapers or chatting with each other while having their drinks. After done my
research, I want to introduce the culture, foods, drinks, activities and environment of
the Kopitiam.

2. INTRODUCTION OF RESTAURANT SRI S
Restaurant Sri S is one of the kopitiam that can be found in the Subang Jaya. There
have few stalls sell different foods within the Kopitiam. According to the feedback of
their fans, Chicken rice and Pan Mee are the most popular food among the others.
Normally, the restaurant will be crowded in the morning and afternoon as many
customers came to have breakfast or afternoon tea.

3. INTRODUCTION OF RESTAURANT NAM YIANG
Restaurant Nam Yiang is also one of the Kopitiams that can be found in
Subang Jaya. It located in Jalan PJS 7/22 (Jalan PJS 7/7, Bandar Sunway), 46150
Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The Kopitiam is just open early in the morning until the
afternoon. According to the feedback of the customers, Mihun Mee and Fried rice are
the most popular food among the others within the kopitiam.

4. INTRODUCTION OF HAILAM KOPITIAM
The Hainan Kopitiam that I had visited is located at SS15 within the Subang Jaya area.
So who are they? The original Hainans who has far back as 1936 set up Foh Heong
Kopitiam in Kuala Pilah and still stands tall until today. They are Goh family that puts
up together the recipes that is to be adapted more than half decades later. Popular in
colonial times, the restaurant was favoured and patronised by the British and Negri
Sembilan Loyalty. Together with Tunku Kudin, they set up Sinaran Restaurant Café
in 1944. Hailam Kopitiam had served variety types of foods and drinks.

5. INTRODUCTION OF RESTAURANT FOH FOH
Restaurant Foh Foh is also one of the kopitiams that can be found in the
Subang area. It located in 95-97 Jalan SS 15/4, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Restaurant Foh Foh have a lot of stalls that serve variety of foods such as noodles,
Fried Rice, Economy Rice and etc. The Kopitiam opened early in the morning until
the afternoon. According the feedback of the fans, Taiwan Beef Mee and Hakka Mee
is the most popular among the others.

6. INTRODUCTION OF RESTAURANT UNLIMITED
Restaurant Unlimited is also one of the kopitiam that can be found in Subang
jaya. It located in Jalan PJS 7/22 (Jalan PJS 7/7, Bandar Sunway), 46150 Petaling
Jaya, Selangor. The kopitiam opened early in the morning until afternoon. There also
have many stalls that sell different types of food. The Kopitiam was crowded by many
customers to having their breakfast and afternoon tea. Among the foods, Hokkien
Mee and Wantan Mee are the most popular food as what their fans said.
