The lesson incorporates a modified scientific method that is age appropriate for the students. It challenges students to research, test, and analyze data in a fun, creative way. This lesson is about a having students research a gingerbread house recipe, build it, and analyze and compile their data about it. They will have to work together to complete it, as it is a lot of work. Teachers should challenge their students to be creative and have fun. Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion

This lesson could be easily simplified or extended depending on where developmentally the learner is. For example, to simplify the activity, students would only build a gingerbread house with the help of the teacher. To extend it, the students could do the full scientific method instead of the modified version created for this activity. Prior to learning this lesson, the learners will need to know what a gingerbread house is. If students have never seen one, the teacher may show pictures to them or bring in an example. In addition, students must know how to use Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Teaching this would take more time, thus an additional activity may need to be created in order to teach it.
