Typically at GeoNYC (http://www.meetup.com/geonyc/) we present on tools we are building, maps we're making, questions we're solving, stories we're telling, etc etc. For January's GeoNYC (http://www.meetup.com/geonyc/events/126258542/) -- we're doing something special -- we putting together a panel of expert map makers to help us pick the best map of 2013. This design critique will allow the larger GeoNYC community to decode the process and evaluation behind a successful map - What are the sparks of inspiration? How does an expert break it down? And how can we read a great map? How do you know success? We're asking the larger GeoNYC community to submit their favorite maps of 2013. The organizing crew will then whittle it down to a top 10. And then our expert panel will provide expert critique. At the end of the night - once 3-word introductions and public roasts are done -- we'll vote on the top 3.
