Q2: How effective is the COMBINATION of your main and ancillary texts?
How convincing are the links between all three of your products? It should be clear that all your
products advertise the same programme through:
 Character costumes, poses, eyeline matches, anchoring (characters with relationships in
your trailer anchoring each other)
 Representations
 Storylines
 Character names
 Same soap name
 Same channel
 Same house style

As well as this, for all your ancillaries you must make sure that all fonts, colours, branding ALSO
matches the publication or channel/institution you are using to advertise your product e.g. if you
are making a front cover for a magazine like TV and Satellite Weekly you must make sure that your
product matches both sets of conventions, like this:
