2. MARCH
28
On March 28 you can VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights
for one hour.
Or you can vote global warming by leaving your lights on.
The results of the election are being presented at the Global
Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. We want one
billion votes for Earth, to tell world leaders that we have to take
action against global warming.
3. 77 countries and 680 cities
have committed to VOTE EARTH for Earth
Hour 2009, as part of the worlds first global
election between Earth and global warming.
4. Archbishop Desmond Tutu has lent his voice to
Earth Hour’s global call for action on climate
change.
“Climate change is the greatest human induced
crisis facing the world today. It is totally
indiscriminate of race, culture and religion. It
affects every human being on the planet,” said
the Archbishop.
7. Lights will be turned off on Table Mountain in Cape Town, South
Africa for Earth Hour 2009.
8. In Rio de Janeiro, the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top
of Corcovado, the Sugar Loaf and the Copacabana seaside
walk, will be turned off for Earth Hour 2009.
