This presentation looks at some of the SharePoint features available for structuring information so content is easy to find. The session will also look at some real world projects that had information architecture requirements that didn’t line up with the out-of-the box SharePoint features. We will look at the requirements for these projects and show how solutions were built using a combination of the SharePoint features and customisations built on top of the SharePoint platform. Some of these features include using a search driven architecture and automating the tagging of content using the new content management features of SharePoint 2010.

Worst thing about Imagine (verbatims) Not always easy to find what you are looking for Search engine It's hard to find topic related documents Difficult to find all projects about a specific area, ie trim, with out knowing what all the project names are VERY difficult to locate information if you do not know the EXACT project to which it applies. Can be slow and not always obvious where items are categorised. It is not very easy to find the information Challenging to find what you are looking for!

They mean the Google Search user experience: pervasive, expedient and delivering the information that they need. Successful enterprise search does not start with the application features, is not part of the information architecture, does not come from a controlled vocabulary and does not emerge on its own from the developers. It requires enterprise-specific data mining, enterprise-specific user-centered design and fine tuning to turn “search sucks” into search success within the firewall. Navigate, search and link SharePoint content by use of semantic technologies based on Semantic SP. Semantic technologies build the basis for smart content management systems. Functionalities of such technologies range from automatic tagging / text mining to taxonomy / ontology management. From a user perspective, improved search, contextualisation of information, e.g. automatic content recommendation, and means for a better understanding of interlinked information are key for professional information management. SharePoint is a frequently used carrier-system of enterprise content which offers some basic functionalities for semantic information management out-of-the-box. In this webinar, you will see how these features are usually used, e.g. SharePoint’s Term Store, and how those components can be extended by a set of additional functionalities provided by Semantic SP. We demonstrate and discuss the benefit of use cases based on the following components of the Semantic SP product family: PowerTagging for SharePoint: Automatic tagging and semantic indexing of documents by use of text mining based on enterprise vocabularies. SharePoint Engage Phoenix 2017 Our SharePoint environment is a lot like many others – a SharePoint 2007 implementation that was used more as a file dump than a collaboration space. With minimal user adoption, we were never quite ready to implement 2010, with a pilot SharePoint 2010 implementation stalled out of the gate. In the meantime, some content was put on Box and other services to address external collaboration needs. Business users needed more relevant search results, content databases had grown uncomfortably large, and access controls had become spaghetti. Fortunately, site sprawl wasn’t too bad… except that the reason for that was the low adoption. SharePoint 2013 arrived to a perfect storm – business and technology needs to be addressed, content that needs to be brought back in-house, and user adoption that needs to be improved. Time to upgrade! See how we approached the upgrade, the issues than needed to be addressed, and the questions that needed to be answered.

Tracing the root cause of a performance issue requires a lot of patience, experience, and focus. It’s so hard that we sometimes attempt to guess by trying out tentative fixes, but that usually results in frustration, messy code, and a considerable waste of time and money. This talk explains how to correctly zoom in on a performance bottleneck using three levels of profiling: distributed tracing, metrics, and method profiling. After we learn to read the JVM profiler output as a flame graph, we explore a series of bottlenecks typical for backend systems, like connection/thread pool starvation, invisible aspects, blocking code, hot CPU methods, lock contention, and Virtual Thread pinning, and we learn to trace them even if they occur in library code you are not familiar with. The most basic style of RAG works by vectorizing your data and injecting it into a vector database like Milvus for retrieval to augment the text output generated by an LLM. This is just the beginning. One of the ways that we can extend RAG, and extend AI, is through multilingual use cases. Typical RAG is done in English using embedding models that are trained in English. In this talk, we’ll explore how RAG could work in languages other than English.
