2. In the spirit of one person’s effort to rid
a trash dump from this land, a unique
type of art was created and the dream
of being an artist was fulfilled.
3. Artist Donna DiGiorgio has a passion for recycling
and repurposing what others view as trash…
From trash, Donna creates one-of-a-
kind pieces that people love.
4. Donna’s Story…
My family’s lake property is a special and
beautiful place nestled on 18 acres of land
just south of Birmingham, Alabama. As a
small child, going to the lake was about
fishing, skiing and enjoying family time. The
land is still enjoyed by my mother, my seven
siblings, our own children and their children.
One day on a nature walk, I discovered a large
area of trash that had been around for years.
Since that day, I have collected old bottles,
metal cans, license plates, and more. People
always ask, “Why are you holding on to
trash?” My answer…“One day I will create
something special.”
After some time of staring at the old wood
and rusted metal, I began to visualize art. The
trash began to come to life, and DD aRt was
born.
I could not make the pieces fast enough and
soon my friends and family were encouraging
me to participate in local art shows. I now
create custom items along with my fish and
owls and am thankful to have a wonderful
following of fans.
