10. 2008 – Tata Motors unveils its people’s car, Nano at the 9th Auto Expo in Delhi. Tata Motors signs definitive agreement with Ford Motor Company to purchase Jaguar and Land Rover.
11. 2008 - Tata Motors has formed a 51:49 joint venture in bus body building with Marcopolo of Brazil. Tata MarcoPolo released this low-floor bus in India and now it is widely used as public transport in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Lucknow. 2009 – Tata has set up a plant in Sanand, Gujrat for the manufacturing of Nano. 2009 – First Nano car rolled out.
20. Interpretation The share value of Tata Motors declined in 2008 due to recession. The share price of Tata Motors declined from Rs 824.1 to Rs 191.9. Share prices again started increasing in 2009, it increased from Rs 189 to Rs 799.6. Another reason for the decline in the share price of Tata Motors in 2008 was the controversy of Singur, West Bengal Nano plant.
