2. 2-Using of Textbook
- Textbook is used during teaching and learning
in class.
- Questions in the examination might linked to
the vocabulary, grammar, the list words and
the topic
- Advised them to refer back to their Year 4,
Year 5 and Year 6 textbooks when doing their
revision
3. 3- Writing Diary
• These pupils are trained to write diary from Year
4 till now
• Their diary is checked daily
• The objective of writing diary is to train them to
write a complete simple and compound
sentences
• Although the sentences are repeated the same
every day but at least they are able to construct
simple and compound sentences correctly or
dare to write.
4. 4- Morning Class
• 7.00am reach school and start teaching the Year 6
pupils till 7.30am every morning
• Start drilling them with vocabulary at word level
include parts of body, clothing, animals, plants and
flowers, fruits and vegetables, transport,
buildings/places, things at home, activities/ games,
occupations, verbs and adjectives by photocopied
the references book with Chinese Language meaning.
Firstly read and understand the meaning in Chinese
Language. Then, do spelling with them so that they
are able to remember and use them when
constructing sentences.
5. • Phrase level include collective nouns, similes and
adverbial phrases by memorising 5 phrases per day
and to be asked by the teacher every morning before
the drilling of vocabulary starts
• After finishing of memorising of the phrases level,
give them photocopied exercises from reference
books on word level, phrases level, sentence level
and social expression which started in the end of
March till May
• In June till the day of examination, the morning class
is to expose them to the pass years examination
paper.
6. 5-Extra classes done by school
• Every Thursday only an hour-emphasis on every parts of
grammar include article, countable and uncountable nouns,
singular and plural nouns, pronouns, prepositions,
conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs, wh-question words,
subject-verb- agreement, tenses- present tense for singular
and plural subject, past tense, present/past continuous tense,
future tense, gerund, synonyms , antonyms, punctuations and
spelling.
• Exercises on each part of the grammar are given to them to
attempt after the explanation of how and when to use every
each part of the grammar.
• Ask them to underline the key words- meaning sometimes
there is or there are some words that have connections with
the parts of grammar to be answered correctly.
7. 6-Extra weekend classes
• With the parents’ full cooperation, the parents send their children
to the teacher’s house to have an extra weekend classes on every
Sundays after the Chinese New Year.
• During these classes, pupils are drilled on every parts of Paper 2.
• For Section A Paper 2, advise them to look at the picture and use
the two given words to construct by using Subject-verb-agreement
sentence then continue with prepositions/ conjunctions to end the
sentences with correct punctuation and good handwriting.
• For Section B Paper 2, teach them to find the correct information
for the blanks and then reread the information with correct of
construction of phrases for the information to be filled into the
blanks.
• Encourage them to construct simple sentences and compound
sentences for Section C Paper 2 and add in extra own sentences for
each picture and give own conclusion for the third picture.
8. 7- Night classes during the holidays
• Having five night classes during the holidays besides
the extra classes planned by the school.
• Reason for having night classes as not to interrupt with
other subjects of extra classes during the day.
• Two photocopied reference books on Paper 1 were
done during the night classes. The pupils were drilled
with vocabulary at word level, phrase level, sentence
level, social expression, every part of grammar,
punctuation, spelling, text completion and
comprehension questions. Another photocopied
reference book on Paper 2 was also used during these
classes

10. 8-Understanding and Identifying the
Strength and Weakness of my pupils
• Identifying the weak pupils- Chen Jing Shi and Kor Kek Boon –give them
easier extra worksheets for them to practise in during the recess. Hope
both of them are able to pass with at least grade “C”
• For the medium pupils-Lim Shu Jun, Syazwani, Goh Onn Shang, Yeoh Wei
Yee and Ooi Yen Yee-encourage them to do more exercises on Paper 2
which they are poor in constructing proper sentences for Section A and
Section C of Paper 2 by asking to look for the verbs either in Present Tense
or Past Tense before constructing the sentences and end the sentences
with correct predicate for the pictures. Besides this, also guide them to
select the correct information for Section B of Paper 2. Ask them to read
again the information that they had found by reading the phrases to fix
the blanks.
• For the pupils who are going to score- Athirah, Ch’ng Zi Xin, Kelvin, Khor Zi
Xuan and Ong Yong Jia- encourage them to construct more simple and
compound sentences of their own to score good grades. Sometimes,
encourage them to construct own prediction for the third picture of
Section C so as to end the essay in a good manner.
