Agenda and Objectives
Today’s Objectives...

We will answer comprehension and character
questions about Act 4.

We will finish reading Act 5, Scene 3.

We will discuss our ideas, reactions, and questions
about the play.

We will go over final project options and begin
working on final projects.
Warm Up:
Comprehension & Character Questions

   For our warm up today, please answer:
     comprehension questions about Act 4
     character questions from Act 4.

   You can use your script or book to help you.

   We will discuss your answers, questions and
   ideas at the end of our warm up.
   (about 9:25am)
Reading: Act 5, Scene 3

Before we begin reading, let’s first summarize
what happened in the beginning of Act 5.
  Use summarizing and synthesizing sheets to help
  you choose the most important events and details!
Now, let’s make a prediction about what you
think might happen in Act 5, Scene 3.
Let’s read the final Scene of Romeo and
Juliet.
Discussion Questions

Now that we have finished reading this
interesting play, let’s take some time to
discuss what we think about it.
We will each write a discussion question and
will get into groups. We will discuss what we
think about the story.
Example:
  “Why do you think Romeo didn’t go to Friar
  Lawrence’s cell before going to see Juliet’s body at
  the end of the story?”
Final Projects
  You will only choose one of these options.
  You can work with a partner or by yourself.
  We will work M, T, W, and share on Thursday.
  Why do we do projects like this?
•Compare and contrast 2 characters from Romeo and Juliet.
•Find another example of a real life Romeo and Juliet story and
compare and contrast it with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
•If you could re-write any part of the play, what would you
change and why?
•Who is responsible for the tragedy at the end of the play and
why?
•Write your own fiction or nonfiction Romeo and Juliet story.
•Write about what you think happens next in the play.
