2. Today’s objectives...
We will answer comprehension questions
about Act 5.
We will discuss our ideas, reactions, and
questions about the play by writing our
own discussion questions to talk about.
We will go over final project options and
have time to work on final projects.
3. Warm up: Act 5 Questions
For our warm up today, please answer the
comprehension questions about Act 5.
After you finish the questions, please write at
least one discussion question about any part of
the play.
Example: “Why do you think Romeo didn’t go to
Friar Lawrence’s cell before he went to see Juliet’s
body at the end of the story?”
What do you think....
Why do you think....
Who do you think...
Where do you think...
How do you think...
4. Let’s Discuss!
We will now get into small groups to ask
and answer our discussion questions.
Remember, everyone should get a
chance to share their ideas and
questions.
5. Final Project
You will only choose one of these options.
You can work with a partner or by yourself.
We will work M, T, W, and share on Thursday.
Why do we do projects like this?
•Compare and contrast 2 characters from Romeo and Juliet.
•Find another example of a real life Romeo and Juliet story and
compare and contrast it with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
•If you could re-write any part of the play, what would you
change and why?
•Who is responsible for the tragedy at the end of the play and
why?
•Write your own fiction or nonfiction Romeo and Juliet story.
•Write about what you think happens next in the play.
