Online Marketing
Online marketing, also referred to as i-marketing, web
marketing, Internet marketing, or eMarketing, is the
marketing of products or services over the Internet.
Strategies: Search engine marketing (SEM), search engine
optimisation (SEO), banner ads, e-mail marketing and Web
2.0.
Advantage of online marketing over offline
Online marketing, marketing is totally dependent on the extent of
accesses to the internet. Nowadays on can have accesses to the
internet in any part of the world and so the market penetration is
quite easy.
Usually the online marketing is very helpful at approaching the
clients or customers into their homes just through a click thus
making it easier for the companies to contact them later
product promotion, the online marketing turns out to be better than
the offline marketing.
The online marketing has shrunk the world into 24 hours. It is
because of the online marketing that a business can remain
operational for 24 hours. It is because of the online marketing that
the Asian countries can market the American products to the
Americans during night and cater to the local market during day
time. The online marketing can go on 24×7, round the year.
Disadvantage of online marketing over offline
Online ,Marketing dependent on the speed of the internet,
working of the server and the supply of electricity. If the
internet is not working or the electricity supply runs short
then the website is not accessible.
Offline media channels such as TV, radio and print are very
fast per motion way compare to online per motion
Internet marketing. Though cost effective and time saving,
internet marketing is not always free. Hardware safety and
quality assurance, software that facilitates the unique
business requirements, setting up or tagging with online
payment channels, online distribution costs, maintenance of
site and upgrading are all the requirements for a successful
sustaining business on the net.
