1. So, you want to change your name in Elluminate, eh? Here’s how it’s done (with some humor)

2. First off, notes and disclaimers (and all that junk) I was NOT the person who discovered this. I just made this so it’s easier to email instructions then try to describe it. Don’t be a knucklehead with your names. If it isn’t HR appropriate, they will find you. (If you do it wrong everyone will know it’s you anyway….) Teachers will probably ask who you are (unless, i.e., your name is Phil and you change it to “The mighty and awesome Phil” or something else obvious) so be prepared to tell at least them….they might still boot you anyway. Don’t end up like that guy. Keep it smart.

3. Primero(That’s Spanish for first) Go to the Blackboard course of your target elluminate. (For all intents and purposes, let’s use Phil’s Math) Go to the Elluminate tab. Find the link that says “Phil’s math class”. (or whatever ellum it is you’re going to, since PMC doesn’t exist……..) DON’T CLICK YET! RIGHT CLICK the link and hit “Open in New Tab” Now get ready for fast clicking…

4. So here’s your ellum screenYou’ll notice I have a scribble….ignore it Let’s get to work

5. dnoceS(Second backwards) Hit “Launch Elluminate” IMMEDIATELY click the red x when it appears. That means, hit Launch, fly the mouse to the red x, and as soon as you get there hit it. You must be wondering…what happens if I mess up….well….next slide shows you….

7. HAHAHAHAHAHA no. Despite what the last slide said, evil kitties do not attack….I put that in A. for laughs and B. because I needed a use for the pic. What really happens is only a minor annoyance, that if you plan right will work for you. The X cancels a new ellum from opening. Don’t think you can move fast? Just let it open, and if it’s a duplicate of your normal (or you don’t want your normal) close it, wait a minute (to divert notice) and move on to step 3.

8. Hith ere!! * Now that you have control of the load screen (back up 4 slides if you forget what it looks like), you have the backdoor. Go to the url, shown below. Still lost? Well, remember the scribble I said to ignore? That points to it. (scribbled out below is the name of the bb user who demonstrated, just imagine your name is there) *Bet ya thought this said Step 3, right? Wrong! It says Hith ere!! (Hi there!!)

9. Step 42 Highlight the part that says your name. For example, say someone named…oh I don’t know….Steve Dorrello(don’t ask, just a random name) was trying to go into Phil’s Math Class. He’d highlight the part under the first scribble (and in bold below), which for him would say “&username=Dorrello+Steve+%28” and replace it with....well….King Steve. Then hit enter. BUT…..

10. Oops? There’s one thing wrong with Steve’s bit. In elluminate, his name will come up as “King Steve (dorrellos111)” How do you get rid of the pesky BB name? That’s the second scribble. Steve is happy with his name, so we’ll go with another random person with a seemingly odd name…Jill Widehips. Get ready to go undercover.

12. Oops, wrong undercover Ahem…sorry ‘bout that… So anyway, Jill Widehips wants to completely change her name. Well, let’s do it. Here’s the url again. Notice that. After it lists our helper’s name (who I will call Mort), there’s more address. It got cut off here, but you can hit the right arrow key to see the end. So after Mort’s name (which really ends in L), there’s a + sign, %28, and the start of his BB name. Next slide shows what to do…I promise

13. I told you it’d work! Maybe she should be Jill Stickybutt…. Continuing from before, it’s mort+%28bbname. In Jill’s case, her entire address is “&username=Widehips+Jill+%28widehipsjill111+password…” DO NOT TOUCH “+password….”! YOU WILL NOT GET IN. BB stores the ellum passwords in it’s database, take that out and you no enter. Select everything in bold, then change it. For example, Jill would make it “=The girl stuck in the window” (Just go with it I’m making this stuff up as I go) Then hit enter, and the pesky BB tag is gone. 
