 Everyone has his/her own set of personal values.
 Varies from person to person, family to family, country to
country.

4. TANGIBLE
Tangible values are the material things in our
life, things that cost money to obtain.
 Examples:
Phone
House
Car

5. INTANGIBLE
Intangible values are the non-material things
in our life. They don’t cost money.
Examples:
Love
Freedom
Integrity
Service

6. WHICH IS A MORE IMPORTANT VALUE?
 Intangible values are the most important because they are
lasting and are free. Anyone can obtain them whether or not
they have money.

7. 5 VALUES
 Because we are human we have a basic need for some
common intangible values. Some of these are:
 Love
 Respect
 Honesty
 Trustworthiness
 Caring
These five things can help us feel better about ourselves. They can also
lead to a good character.

don’t love?

 Why is love a value that we hold dear?
 We all have a need to be loved and give love.

9. RESPECT
 What are some things you respect in your life?
 Do you treat things you respect better than you treat things
you don’t respect?

 Why is respect a value that we hold dear?
 We all have a need to care about self, life, property, other
people, and their rights.

10. HONEST Y
 Who are you honest to in your life?
 Are you less honest to some people rather than others?
 Why is it important to be honest?
 Why is honesty a value that we hold dear?
 We all have a need to tell the truth, be straightforward,
sincere, truthful, fair and genuine. If not it can af fect our self -
esteem and self-concept.

11. TRUSTWORTHINESS
 Are some people more trustworthy than others?
 Why is it sometimes hard to be trustworthy?
 Does it bother you when people are not trustworthy?
 Why is trustworthiness a value that we hold dear?
 We al have a need to be relied on and to be able to rely on
people.
