 Valid III the Impaler (also known as Vlad Dracula
  1431 –1476) was Prince of Wallachia, a former country
  that is now part of Romania.
 His was king for 3 times: in1448, from 1456 to 62, and
  in 1476.
 Vlad is best known for the exceedingly cruel punishments he
  imposed during his reign. That is why he became inspiration
  for the vampire main character in Bram Stoker's popular
  Dracula
novel.
Some information about the author
 Abraham "Bram" Stoker was an Irish
writer, and author of the horror novel Dracula.
 Before writing Dracula,
Stoker spent eight years
researching European
folklore and stories of
vampires!
 The novel is about a young solicitor, Jonathan
  Harker, who travels to Transylvania to sell a
  house to a nobleman named Dracula.
