2. The SGAC logo has 3 people floating in space with the UN-like
wreaths of wheat around it.
A lot of thought went in to this logo, and the meaning and
symbolism behind it:
The three people represent a community - we do not go in to space alone,
butwith all humanity.

Capacity building for communities
An open, easy to maintain repository of
natural disaster occurrence events so
that trends can be identified
An emergency number that can be
dialed just like the ambulance “SOS”
Involvement of the youth in decision
making and the dissemination of
information

16. The Message
8 things the next generation wants the
space world to consider
Improvement of communication (and IT) infrastructure, bringing
information and education to even the farthest villages
Develop technology to use the ores & energy sources available beyond the
Earth: A NEW MANHATTAN PROJECT IS NEEDED
The search for outer planets with life should continue
Greater involvement and participation of women
More effort needs to be given to collaborative NEO Tracking initiatives
Formalization and passage of a space code of conduct and the drafting of an
international declaration of human intent to establish a peaceful space
faring civilization.
Set up of an international moon/mars base with operations similar to the
ISS
Improvement of rapid response on disasters: Earth based/space based,
especially for ‘developing’ or ‘third world countries’ which do not have
indigenous tools

Notes de l'éditeur
1981-1985: STUDENTS FOR THE EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SPACE (SEDS) SEDS is founded by Peter Diamandis at MIT and expanded to an international organization with Bob Richards and Todd Hawley 1986: SPACE GENERATION FOUNDATION The Space Generation Foundation is created by Richards, Diamandis and Hawley to generate and sponsor post-SEDS activities. 1987: ISU IS FOUNDED The International Space University is Founded by Richards, Diamandis and Hawley under the auspices of the Space Generation Foundation. 1996: X PRIZE ISCREATED Diamandis creates the $10M X-Prize to jump start the space tourism market. As you can well imagine, starting your own university and building a permanent campus is rather time consuming. During the rapid growth of their first project, the idea of the space generation fell silent for a few years. 1999: SPACE GENERATION FORUM ISU alumni convene the Space Generation Forum at Unispace III. Space Generation Advisory Council is formed for the UN. In 1999 something very big happened UNISPACE III, once a decade meeting of the UN and the whole world 200 youth invited, at the last minute pressures of ??? 5 of 10 youth recommendations included in the Vienna declaration.
There were two dates, April 12 1961 October 4 1957 Peter was older, so picked 1957 Thus.... The Space Generation Concept was Born [show of hands] Significant on a species level.
