1. Top 10 Best Gadgets Ever Invented
Much of the inventions have changed the world forever. They have affected us in many ways and is
totally appreciated. Many inventions have helped in entertainment, health, communications and as
much as how we hate it, even war. Here is a list of the top 10 inventions that have changed the
world forever.
"And Thomas Edison said, "Let there be light!"
When we speak about the light bulb and its invention, the name Thomas Edison comes rolling off the
tongue. (or did it not?) Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 October 18, 1931). Edison patented
the first commercially successful bulb in 1879. Many other inventors have since improved upon
Edison's work. The Bulb has revolutionized social life, personal life and even how business is done
worldwide. Before the bulb, candles and lamps were being lit in homes. Businesses would have
closed at earlier hours as the lamp and candle were not sufficient to perform certain business
transactions. Children could study easier at nights and social area such as parks and streets were
better lit resulting in a drop in even criminal activities. The Bulb has gone through many
metamorphic stages, the now becoming extinct incandescent bulb was the original bulb, as it is now,
it generates much more heat and thus uses more power to keep lit. The next transformation was the
florescent. This bulb generated less heat, lasted longer and used less current than the incandescent.
The LED bulb is now at the elm of the bulb transformation and is even more resource friednly than
both its predecessors.
It is said that Plato invented the first alarm clock out of sheer need to to wake his self and his
students up at a certain time. Levi Hutchins invented the first American alarm clock. This piece of
gadget is quite annoying yet very useful as it has save many habitual late sleepers from being fired!
This device has also gone through a lot of transformations. It has evolved from those bell blasters
ear drum smashing devices to fancy digital beepers. Back in the inception of the alarm clock, it was
beginning to have a stigma has being associated with a bomb. Many bombs were built back then
with timers and those timers were that annoying alarm click ticking away. If you entered your car
and you heard an alarm clock ticking, you better get up and run for your life. Overall, the alarm
clock has served its purpose and will continue to be essential for many more years to come. Whether
it be vintage analog or digital, Its the sound that wakes you up, alerts you when your next
medication intake and many more useful signalling.

phonograph was created with a cylinder method for recording and playing music until Edison later
created the disc method for recording and playing music on a whole new phonograph machine
named the Disc Phonograph. The Disk Phonograph revolutionized music listening and allowed

1931 H.H. Schultz and J.Q. Sherman invent an individual room air conditioner that sits on a window
ledge This type of cooling system had had success with many apartment buildings over time. One of
the great aspect of this heavy piece of equipment was that of course it was portable and could easily
pack and go by simply turning it off, unplug and drop it in a box, (drop it is not literal). This was a
breakthrough invention as this was what many called a weather fighter. All one had to do from
coming in from a scorching heat was to simply flip the on switch and watch the temperature fall.
This gadget however was not cheap back in those days and was mostly afforded by the wealthy. The
large cooling systems cost between $10,000 and $50,000. That's equivalent to $120,000 to $600,000
today.)The Air condition unit of today is much more economical and comes at a more cheaper rate
than the then Portable window units.
A personal computer (PC) is a general-purpose computer, whose size, capabilities and original sale
price makes it useful for individuals, and is intended to be operated directly by an end-user. The
Programma 101 was the first commercial "desktop personal computer", produced by the Italian
company Olivetti and invented by the Italian engineer Pier Giorgio Perotto, inventor of the magnetic
card system. The project started in 1962. It was launched at the 1964 New York World's Fair, and
volume production began in 1965, the computer retailing for $3,200. Before the Programma 101,
computers were as large as trucks and used only by trained specialists, but Programma 101 was the
size of a typewriter and accessible to all. Personal computers have evolved to even smaller and much
more faster and compact units at even better prices. These computers have also pioneered small and
medium sized businesses and has allowed these business to automate and organize many of its
tasks. The Personal computer is a forefront of computing and deserves its much honor.
Who is afraid to take an injection? Better not let the kids see this needle. In the 1850s the French
veterinary surgeon Charles Gabriel Pravaz and the Scottish doctor Alexander Wood developed a
syringe. It had a hollow needle fine enough to pierce the skin. Syringe barrels were initially made of
metal, but by 1866 they were made from glass (the needles remained metal).
Many of the technical difficulties which had faced those experimenting with blood transfusion were
removed after 1853 by the invention of the hypodermic syringe, with its hollow pointed needle.
Credit for the evolution of this universally useful appliance is usually given to Doctor Alexander
Wood (born 1817), who was appointed Secretary of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in
1850. For some time, Doctor Wood had been experimenting with a hollow needle for the
administration of drugs. Eventually, he felt confident enough to publish in "The Edinburgh Medical
and Surgical Review" a short paper - 'A New Method of treating Neuralgia by the direct application
of Opiates to the Painful Points' - in which he showed that the method was not necessarily limited to
the administration of opiates. At about the same time, Charles Gabriel Pravaz of Lyon was making a
similar syringe which quickly came into use in many surgeries under the name of 'The Pravaz
Syringe'.

cultures who live 10000 miles away right in the center of our living rooms. Today televisions sets has
become quite sophisticated pieces of devices. They have moved away from the Long Back Cathode
Ray Tube high energy burns to the slender and much more attractive Liquid Crystal Display. Today
television host a handful of technologies which gives you many entertainment choices.
One of the worlds best Gadgets ever invented. They say that the radio was invented by two persons.
Serbian-American scientist Nikola Tesla and Italian physicist Guglielmo Marconi who went head-t-
-head in what would become the race to invent the radio. No one knows for sure who came up with
the idea first but that has past and these men has gone down in the history books as the inventors.
The radio is a one way communication device that is used to broadcast all over the nation
simultaneously. Breaking news could be heard instantly. The invention of the radio gave way to
many opportunities such as live Disc Jockeys spinning you most romantic records all night and
chatting up a storm. The radio back then was also one of the biggest piece of entertaining devices as
teenagers blasted pop songs and screamed on hearing the voice of their favorite singers. The radio
today is still relevant as it is one of the main pieces of entertainment and communication devices in
most cars. It has sealed a permanent spot in our homes. Some would say that the radio is married to
the television.
Who would have thought that such a small gadget would be the number one gadget ever invented.
Martin "Marty" Cooper (born December 26, 1928) is an American engineer. He is a pioneer and
visionary in the wireless communications industry. With eleven patents in the field, he is recognized
as an innovator in radio spectrum management. While at Motorola in the 1970s, Cooper conceived
the first handheld mobile phone (distinct from the car phone) in 1973 and led the team that
developed it and brought it to market in 1983. He is considered the "father of the cell phone" and is
also cited as the first person in history to make a handheld cellular phone call in public.

Internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded apps. The smartphone is
the most widely used electronic device, it is packed with tonnes of communication and social
networking apps such as twitter, facebook, pinterest, instagram and whatsapp. The smartphone can
be said to be a magyver type of gadget. It is capable of being a radio, television, Tracking device,
digital camera. You can use your smartphone now to even accept credit card payments, harm or
