Basic Brain Map Hemispheres Cerebrum Your brain is divided into a right and left side called hemispheres, just like planet earth. The right hemisphere controls the left side of your body and the left hemisphere controls the right side of your body. Click on the picture to learn more. The Occipital Lobe ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],The occipital lobe is in the back of you brain. It helps you see and remember what colors you are seeing. How does my occipital lobe help me see when it is so far from my eyes? Quit

It controls involuntary muscles, like the ones that make your heart keep beating. If you didn’t have your brain stem you body might forget to breathe. It also helps you wake up and be alert.
