Boalt’s most impressive international and human rights specialists. She has worked extensively on human

Wildlife with Weissman!
Steve Weissman – Boalt’s clean energy and environmental guru – and his wife Laura will offer kayaking on
Elkhorn Slough – a great spot for birds and coastal mammals near Monterey. They will provide kayak
rentals, and lunch for up to 6 people. They will also have bird books and binoculars on hand. No boating
experience is necessary -- the outfitter provides a brief lesson at the start. Date to be arranged.

Art and Burritos – What Better Way to Spend a Friday?
Within an 8-block radius in the Mission District of San Francisco lie 80 public murals, an outdoor museum of
art, culture, and history! Join Professors Ian Haney Lopez and Michelle Wilde Anderson for a walking tour of
these murals led by the Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center. The tour can accommodate up to 10 students and
will be scheduled on a Friday afternoon in the spring semester. Burritos at a Mission Taqueria included.

Claire Sylvia, adjunct lecturer, invites up to 8 students to her Berkeley home for brunch or dinner – Spring
2011 semester. This dinner is designed for students interested in learning about the False Claims Act/Qui
Tam litigation.

A Walk to Remember!
Legendary Professor Richard Buxbaum will host 4 to 6 students on a Saturday or Sunday nature walk in Point
Reyes, meal included. Includes advice on how you too can help shape history. Buxbaum was one of the five
defense counsel in the criminal proceedings against the 773 members of the Free Speech Movement from
1964 to 1967; represented various campus organizations and individuals in cases arising out of Vietnam War
protests; and was defense counsel in a large number of criminal proceedings that accompanied the Third
World Strike of 1969-70, which was a factor in the development of affirmative action programs for student
admissions on the campus.

Hungry? Want to ogle hipsters? Study in SF? On a Saturday or Sunday in the New Year, Professors Michelle
Wilde Anderson and Jason Schultz will treat 5 students to a “Mission District Foodie and Café Tour.” We’ll

Berkeley Law Lecturer and Amateur Poet Steve Rosenbaum will write a couple of personalized verses of
Haiku in your honor, to be read at the Annual National Poetry Month Open Mic at the Allen Ginsberg

Doubles Dual!
In the spirit of the Indian-Pakistani duo Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-haq-Qureshi, who united the
subcontinent in their run to the doubles finals of the U.S. Open (Tennis!) this fall, Professors Prasad
Krishnamurthy and Talha Syed will bridge two great national divides to form an Indian-American/Pakistani-
Canadian doubles team. We agree to play a match against the winning bidder and a partner of their choice.

Professor Chuck Weisselberg, founder of Boalt’s clinical program and professor of all things related to

2L Anna Crivelli’s husband will lead a lucky hunter and a guest on a Wild Boar Hunting Trip in the Coastal
Foothills. This is a full-day trip to a private hunting club about 100 miles south of Berkeley. Date TBD to
coincide with hunting season. Lunch will be provided. The boar will be cleaned and the hunter can take the
meat. Prior shooting skills are highly recommended. (Disclaimer: a wild boar is not guaranteed, but there has
not been one time when a hunter did not get one in the past.)
