• It is 25 feet tall and 15 to 30 feet wide.
• It goes through grasslands, deserts, over
plateaus, and mountains.

3. 2. Where is this monument located ?
• This monument is located across the
mountains of Northern China.
• The Great Wall of China winds north and
northwest of Beijing.

4. 3. Who built this monument ?
• Qin built the monument.
• Also prisoners and some were stuck into the
cement of the Great Wall.

5. 4. When was this monument built?
• It was originally built over 2000 years ago.
• Around 221 B.C during the Qin dynasty.

6. 5. Why was this monument built ?
• This monument was built to protect China
from invaders.
• Also attacks by northern tribes.

7. 6. Other interesting facts about this
monument.
• Most of the original wall doesn’t exist.
• Many people lost their lives while working.
• Also archeologist have discovered many
human’s body buried under the wall.

• You can visit it today because it is not closed
to the public.
