3. What is E-Rate?
It is a discount program for schools and libraries.
The program provides 20-90% discount on eligible
telecommunications services, depending on
economic need and location.
Discounts can be applied to telecommunications
services, Internet access, and internal
connections and basic local and long distance
phone services.
4. What is the Application Process?
For a school to apply they must
1. Develop a technology plan
2. File Form 470
3. Wait 28 days
4. File Form 471
5. Wait for questioning
6. Review 471 Receipt
7. Review Funding Commitment Letter
8. To confirm services, file form 486

Industry, Hacienda Heights, La Puente and
parts of West Covina, in Los Angeles County
• 17 elementary schools
• 6 middle schools

14. Conclusion
With the support of the E-Rate program schools
are able to function in modern time keeping the
21st century learner in mind. Given that technology
is becoming the key to students’ success, we will
continue to push forward with the professional
development opportunities granted to us.
