@SavageLLife presents an introduction to the Bridgeport Music vs. Dimension Films in which NWA was sued by Funkadelic. The case set major precedents for song and music sampling.
However, the bread and butter of this presentation is the Karma Ann Swanepoel vs. Lil' Wayne, the mixtape king. The case is important because it will be setting the precedent for mixtape sampling, that is albums that aren't sold. She is requesting damages and compensation for her song "Once" when Lil' Wayne used it to promote his blockbuster album "The Carter III".
Should she be able to sue, and get money from this album seeing that her song isn't even on it. He may have performed it to boost his record, but can it be tied to his sales.
Leave @SavageLLife your feedback and commentary so he can learn, and grow. Thanks folks!
