5. STYLING AND LOOK
• the look of many of the photographs taken is black and white and very simple
• In nearly every picture featured not one is making full eye contact with the camera
• They tend to base there pictures on the simple look with people looking in different
directions or even in the same direction but looking away from the camera they are never
central to the camera
• Some are off frame and are set more to one side
• The black and white theme is very popular also the vintage looking pinks and off whites make
appearances within the images; creating the individual style for each different picture
captured
• In many indie looking pictures they tend to have straight faces looking very glum, whilst not
focusing on the camera; this would be a classic shot for an indie band to take
• The looking away from the camera with long hair and a pair of gasses is very popular with the
added black and white
• The clothing choices are very different as to what you might feature on a fashion magazine,
clothing is often baggy and oversized whilst being of the darker colour.
• Distinctive look to each individual picture, no two pictures look exactly the same
• Every individual has a kind of grunge look to them
