How many minutes has it been since you Googled? The Net is becoming the universal medium, and Google the universal search tool. Students have built their skills on Google. Many of us who used an older skill set are now using only Google to find things. Students haven't been trained on sophisticated search techniques. They need training even to use Google well, let alone academic databases.
There are several models of IL. I’ve boiled it down to the basics here. To be complete, we must consider that in the age of the Internet, we need to add a technical component because of the way we access and use information. Social and ethical implications are also drastically impacted by the Internet.
