2. Title and design
In our teaser trailer and poster we
have the same text and title fonts
to create a brand recognition
between the products. Although
both logos are the same design
we used more effects on the logo
in the trailer because we thought
it would fit better with the colour
scheme and feel of the trailer.
3. Title and design
On the magazine cover
we have used a different
font and text style
compared to the other
two products. We have
done this because Empire
magazine has its own
conventions and ways
they want their magazines
to look. We looked at
several Empire magazine
covers and decided that
using a bold font with
contrasting colours
worked well.
4. Iconography
With all 3 of our product we have used a lot of symbols that feature in
most of our product to create our brand image.
The first is the feature of blood on our film poster and in the teaser trailer.
Blood is an obvious icon from horror and slasher films and this is why we
included it in our products.
Another icon that features in all three of our products is the character;
Danielle. As she is the main character it was important that she was on
all of the products. Also, with consistency throughout all of the products,
it creates a brand identity.
The last symbol is the location. Throughout all
three of the products it is obvious that the film is
set in a woodland area. Having woodland images regularly appearing
represents the segregation the
characters are feeling.
5. Characters + Main image
On the poster and the
magazine cover we
decided that we should
put the main character
as the main image on
both. We though this
would be appropriate
because we looked at
other film posters and
magazine covers and the
research showed that
main characters featured
on them more often than
not.
6. Tag line
For our tag line we chose to use the words โFear will
become your best friendโ because we thought that it
would encourage the audience to want to watch the
film, by basically telling them that the fear from the film
would follow them like a best friend would.
I think using these words would be quite effective
because telling the audience that they will feel fear by
watching the film, it is telling them what they want to
hear.
7. Mise en Scene
The mise en scene throughout all of
our products is very alike. Firstly, the
colour scheme is pretty much the same, by using
blues, blacks, and other darker colours in all 3 of the
products. We also used the same costumes in 2 of
the products and the setting also features in the
poster, magazine and trailer. For the magazine we
used a different costume and different text
because magazines have different conventions to
the poster and teaser trailer.
8. Target Audience
Our target audience would be mainly teenagers, I think
this because the rating is 15+, and horror/thriller films are
mainly aimed at teenagers anyway.
However, by using EMPIRE magazine for our magazine
cover we have opened up our target audience as
EMPIRE mostly attracts a male audience aged 17-30.
