These are the instructions and handouts I will be using on 9/3/09 with my Media 21 students. This activity is designed to encourage dialogue about the articles they read and wrote about (on their personal Google Sites page) as part of our exploration of social media for social good. Many thanks to Dr. Bob Fecho at UGA for the inquiry interview activity ideas and procedures---we used this method when I was in his class, and I found it very effective as a learner.

Instructions
1.We will work in groups of 8. You will be seated in this arrangement:

Q2 Q3 Q4 Q1
2.Each “pair” will interview the person across from them. You will have 6
minutes total; 3 minutes each.
3.Use the interview sheets we are providing you to note who you
interviewed and your interview notes.
4. When it is your turn to speak, be sure to:
A. identify yourself
B. identify the name of your article(s)
5.After the six minutes is up, it’s time for the first shift. The row with Qs
1-4 in order stays where they are. The row that starts with Q2 must

Everyone else in the row moves over one chair to the left. We do
another round of interviews. We will do this until each pair has
interviewed each other. Ms. Hamilton will be the timekeeper.
6.When we are finished, we will chart our data using our Wetpaint Wiki at
www.wetpaint.com ; log in and look for the page that says “Speed
Dating Article Reflections”---find the page here that matches your
assigned number.
7.Type in your name and class period in the left column. In the right
column, summarize your findings for your assigned question.
