23. F ROM T HE E DITOR top, look and listen. Red, yellow and green. Small, medium and large. The world is filled with things that come in threes. This year marks the third anniversary of our Innovation in Design Awards (IDAs) and the phrase that comes to mind is, “Third time’s a charm!” It’s true. This year’s entries represent a new level of sophistication, style and innovation that reaffirms my belief in the world of design in Connecticut. From engaging interiors to stunning landscapes, local work consistently excels. More importantly, work of this caliber can only result when a talented professional works with a willing client. And what is particularly satisfying to me is the enthusiasm of the judges who choose the winners. (Of course, it’s odd for me to have an entire issue devoted to someone else’s choices!) But year after year, I am confident in the choices because, when all is said and done, the quality of the work speaks for itself.
