2. What’s the GOAL? My hope is through this power-point you will be inspired and encouraged, to have a fresh new outlook on technology use in your classroom in the coming school year.
3. Start with YOU Before you can expect to implement technology in your classroom, you must first learn to use it. Don’t wait for others to show you, seek out help. Know what items are available on your campus. Attend staff developments MOST Important- ASK QUESTIONS!!
4. Technology A few example of some technology that might be on your campus: Promethean Board or Smart Board Active slate or Air Slate Document Camera Beyond Questions or Qwizdom Graphing Calculators Desktop or Laptop computers Scanner/Printers Internet
5. Have a PLAN Talk with someone who is using the technology now. Know your students and their abilities. Always have a backup plan. If you are not successful the first time try again.
6. Use online templates By using online templates you will be able to better organize your lesson.
7. Teach the student Be patient. Just because we call them the tech generation does not mean all are fluent. Provide DETAILED instructions. Model desired process. Allow time to process new information. Review process often.
9. Let’s pull TOGETHER By teaching others what we have learned we will be able to use technology in our classrooms in new and successful ways to engage every child.
