To form the comparative, we add er to the end of the adjective.
To form the superlative, we add –est
to the end of the adjective.

Problems in cities
In many cities there are problems with the weather. It
rains a lot in Cherrapunji in India. Around 1,150
centimeters of rain falls each year. Cherrapunji is one
of the wettest cities in the world but there isn’t enough
water for the people and animals there. The city is very
hilly and the rainwater runs away too quickly.
In some cities it´s getting hotter. People find it difficult
to work and sleep and they use a lot of electricity for
air conditioners. Bangkok in Thailand is the hottest
capital city in the word. Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia has a
different problem. It´s the coldest capital city in the
world.
The worst problem is the population size of cities.
Shanghai has one of the largest populations in China.
There are over 13 million people there! This makes it
difficult to find work, house, and schools for everyone
