 Chamber’s charitable community and
  economic development partner
 $1 million to the community since
  2004.
 Built two Habitat homes, Century
  Center Clock, Inter-City Visits and the
  Community Leadership Collaboration.
 Created (2007) the national Institute
  for Sustainable Development and the
  Green Plus Program now active in 17
  communities in 14 states.

 We have a strong, well-educated labor
  market and increasingly diverse
  population.
 We are growing and will grow, but much
  slower than our neighbors
 We have a large disparity in wealth with
  rapid increases in food stamp recipients.
 Our people are healthy and trending
  healthier (other than breast cancer)
Some takeaways…
 Commercial tax base as a percent of
  total tax base is declining
 Growth in retail sales is one of our
  greatest economic opportunities
 While we have enough water for the next
  50 years and it will continue to increase
  in price
 Housing prices, while modifying remain
  high compared in other counties in the

 Our schools continue to out perform their
  peers
 Positive impact of tourism and visitors
  continues steady growth
 Air Quality has been good and we
  continue to grow our parks and open

A bit about our Foundation…  Chamber’s charitable community and economic development partner  $1 million to the community since 2004.  Built two Habitat homes, Century Center Clock, Inter-City Visits and the Community Leadership Collaboration.  Created (2007) the national Institute for Sustainable Development and the Green Plus Program now active in 17 communities in 14 states.
