Winter Wonderland Weekends - Nov. 30 - Dec. 31
Following Thanksgiving, The New York State Zoo is transformed into a holiday wonderland! Businesses,
community organizations, and individuals from around the North Country come together to transform the
Zoo with holiday lights. Each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, beginning in December, the Zoo will open its
doors during the nighttime hours to provide visitors with an opportunity to explore this illuminated land-
scape. In addition, each weekend will feature a variety of activities for the entire family.
Holiday HullabaZOO - Dec. 8
Holiday HullabaZoo is a fun way to celebrate the holidays at the New York State Zoo. This festive event fea-
tures cookie decorating, holiday stories by the fireplace, ornament making, and more. Children will also have
an opportunity to make special gifts for the creatures in our care. Plus, no holiday event would be complete
without the opportunity to get your picture taken with Santa Claus! We’ll also have free donuts and hot co-
coa to keep you warm!
All of these activities are free with a per person donation of a non-perishable food or personal care item or a
new unwrapped toy. This event not only benefits the New York State Zoo, but two of the North Country’s
key charitable organizations: the Marine Toys for Tots and the food pantry of the CAPC of Jefferson County,
which assists the members of our community who need it most.
