1. Design Interaction Carly Hegarty
Project Tea
For this assignment I am going to design a piece of software that makes coffee dates less awkward between teenagers.
Through my research and development I have decided that I am going to create a mobile phone application for the android market called ‘hot stuff’. This piece of software will allow the user to turn on the application to get the attention of someone they like the look of whose nearby, the only thing is in order for this too work they have to have theirs on too, i.e wanting to get some attention.
The target audience here is really any single teenagers out there who want to meet people with out actually having to walk up and talk to them face to face, as this could turnout as somewhat an embarassment. The only people this isn’t exactly suitable for those who are involved with someone!
The main purpose of this app is to get people chatting and interacting in an informal fun type of way. This ranges from the initial ‘being a buddy to playing games against each other or sending objects/winks (which are downloadable) and eventually asking to meet for a casual coffee.
The software itself should be easy to use, a simple ‘profile’ image and username and password is setup initially and from there you are ready to get connected to those around you. The safety here is the only contact here is through the application, no other details are exchanged unless either or both parties want to do so.
This app is a more casual way to get connected with someone u might not otherwise have to courage to speak too and as the name implies, it’s an excuse to catch a coffee or other ‘hot stuff’ with someone. With funny and serious sides to turn downs and meeting up suggestions it is suitable for both males and females of any age. I feel that a simple school type backdrop for this applications would be appropriate for the target audience.
To conclude this application will be interactive and useful to a variety of people. With a private messaging and games it a fun way to flirt. It’s a simple way for a casual coffee with date hints and tips along the way and even second date suggestion and ways to keep in touch.
