“ New Federalism”, as defined by Ronald Reagan, shifted the power from the national level to the state level. He created this change in power because he believed that the federal government was incapable of catering to the individual’s needs in comparison to the state.
Disagreed with diminishing role of state governments in the federal system Mandates from Washington wasteful   New Federalism! Mandates took away authority and legitimacy from the state governments
