RIVERS OF JOY BAPTIST CHURCH MINFORD, OHIO TO OUR FELLOWSHIP We continue to be in the process of remodeling the ministry where we can see Christ glorified and Saints spiritually grow, and as God wills, see new people come to fellowship with us. Today October 18, 2009 RIVERS OF JOY BAPTIST CHURCH MINFORD, OHIO Sunday bible study and fellowship at 10 a.m. We have a great time of learning and fellowship THE CHURCH IS A BODY OF BELIEVERS WHO LOVE THE LORD AND LOVE HIS PRINCIPLES AND LOVE OBEYING HIS WILL. From the desk of Pastor Charles THOSE Looking for a CHURCH TO ATTEND! We believe that we have a good church. But others who come to visit usually don’t see us as we see ourselves. Visitors who are just visiting may enjoy the services. Those who visit looking for a church they can attend, do so with a list of things they want to see in the church. They are looking for a “preacher that can make them cry.” (that was the last comment I heard.) They are looking for a place for their child to have a class. They are looking for a church that the preacher preaches the Gospel. Most people come with an idea of what they expect in a church. They are looking for a “feel good” church, praise singing, and short preaching, and a relaxed atmosphere. Of course others are looking for a number of other reasons. We are bent on having a church body that will reflect the idea that we want to please the Lord and glorify Him in our worship service. What new people do not see, we are just blessed to have the doors open. We who are in the church are thankful for God’s mercy and grace that we are all here this morning to worship Him. I believe what we need to do is first seek to worship the Lord ourselves in the service and in the community. Then we need to share with others our love for the Lord, and we believe our church will provide the spiritual teaching necessary for spiritual growth. While we believe we are laying a great foundation for a great church, and we have some great wonderful Christians in our membership, others don’t always see it that way upon their first visit. It is amazing how much work the secular world will do to attract people into their stores and businesses. And people are trained to look for entertainment, the best buys, the most attractive place that will provide them with that they need to shop best. So when they come to a church they are looking for the same idea. What can this church offer me, and how can they meet my needs. When in reality they might not really know what God really wants them to have to grow in the grace of Christ. So we are going to have to stay faithful, ask God for wisdom, and continue to lay and build a foundation that God will be pleased with.
