OUR OPPORTUNITY Environmentally Responsible  Building uses daylight harvesting to create improved lighting fields with more robust user centered lighting. Over 300 thermostats are computer monitored to deliver outstanding comfort in a sustainable, cost effective way. “Eco Corridors” insulate from temperature extremes and create great lines of sight for a more aesthetically appealing environment.
OUR OPPORTUNITY Building uses no natural gas Rain water filtered before release into the drain system so no contaminants reach the bay. Air is cleaned of pollutants and particulate to hospital grade or higher – work becomes a healthier place to be. We are also exploring UV filtering to further scrub the air.
OUR OPPORTUNITY 80% plus more energy efficient (green and cost savings) Building’s second floor “Town Square” concept brings together all departments in a team oriented setting (also called “GoogleWorld” with Wii consoles, pool tables, on demand video links to other centers (you can talk to your buddies face to face in other CoStar locations over coffee). We see this as a place to begin and end your day.

MAKING THIS CHANGE EASIER Relocation Program Employees relocating their permanent residence to the District of Columbia between 2/5/10 and 9/30/11 will receive $7,000 in relocation assistance ($3,000 upon move and $1,000 per quarter for the following 4 quarters) First Mover Incentive  The first 50 employees to move their permanent residence to DC will receive: Full $7,000 payment upon move of permanent residence Additional $7,000 nine months after move of permanent residence
MAKING THIS CHANGE EASIER First-Time Homebuyer Individual Income Tax Credit This federal tax credit is available to first-time homebuyers in the District of Columbia. The credit is the smaller of: $5,000, if single, married filing jointly, head-of-household, or qualifying widow(er) ($2,500, if married filing separately) or  the purchase price of the home.  In general, you may claim the credit if: You purchased a main house during the tax year in the District of Columbia, and  You (and your spouse, if married) did not own any other main home in the District of Columbia during the 1-year period ending on the date of purchase.  Income restrictions and other qualifications may apply.

WHY WE MIGHT LIKE THIS CHANGE… Environmentally Responsible – LEED Certification LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

LEED Certification tells our peers, clients and customers, that our building's sustainable features have been verified by a third party to promote energy conservation, to ensure a healthier indoor environment and to reduce our building’s impact on the environment.
WHY WE MIGHT LIKE THIS CHANGE… LEED Scoring System In LEED 2009 there are 100 possible base points plus an additional 6 points for Innovation in Design and 4 points  for Regional Priority. Buildings can qualify for four levels of certification: Certified - 40 - 49 points  Silver - 50 - 59 points  Gold - 60 - 79 points  Platinum - 80 points and above  We purchased a Gold LEED Certified building and we are building out at the Platinum level.

Buildings can qualify for four levels of certification: Certified - 40 - 49 points Silver - 50 - 59 points Gold - 60 - 79 points Platinum - 80 points and above We purchased a Gold LEED Certified building and we are building out at the Platinum level.
