6. The Future of Work
Current global trends
• So many people today struggle with finding happiness in the
workplace
• Many people pick majors based on salaries instead of finding what
really makes them happy
What we will achieve with Dream Your Future
• We will strive to strengthen human connections and to change the way people
think about work
• The most attractive jobs will be the ones that allow people to have fun and enjoy
themselves but which also challenges them.
• Retaining workers is all about keeping them happy, whether it’s with bonuses,
vacation time, or schedule flexibility, but if you have workers who already enjoy
what they do, employers will have won half the battle. Our program would help to
create happier employees and increase retention.

9. Structure of Education
In order to prepare students for this program, education in high school should focus on a student's
strengths. Teachers and staff should introduce possible career paths early on in the high school careers
Ideas to get students thinking about their future
• Regular group meetings with peers to share ideas and discuss the importance of finding what you love to do
(guided by a staff member)
• Exercises that help students discover what jobs would fulfill them
• Meetings with counselors to make sure they are on track and thinking about what they might want to do after
high school
• Class schedules should introduce a variety of options that allow students to explore different areas
• More freedom to pick different kinds of classes in high school
• Speaker presentations to students that explain the importance of finding what they love to do
These steps will help students get an introduction to thinking about what they might want to
do in the future, and it will help to integrate them into the program if they decide to apply
10. A Perfect Day
• The perfect day would occur when all college students in the US would be able to pick a major
with confidence and enjoy it for their whole college career
• Students who attend this program would come out of it having a clear vision of what field they
want to pursue
• When the rate of people switching majors drops to 0%
• When students feel prepared and confident about their paths when they enter college and
when they leave to find jobs in the real world
