7. 4. Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product
My target audience for my magazine is aged 14-20 year olds male and female, but
slightly bias to males as I feel more males listen to Dubstep/Drum and Bass and
R&B/Hip-Hop.
The typical reader of my magazine will love listening to music a lot of the time
whether they’re doing coursework or out with their mates.
The social class of my target audience would be roughly C1-B as they’re likely to
spend their money on magazines, and C2/D wouldn’t really seem the type to
purchase magazines.
The target audience I have described wouldn’t typically be followers of mainstream,
although the music genres in my magazine have the R&B/Hip-Hop genre, I also
have the Dubstep and Drum and Bass genre which isn’t in a lot of magazines in
shops and differs from most of them as you wouldn’t normally mix these genres
together, but after the research in the earlier Tasks I found out that it’s very popular
with the 14-20 age group and that combining them would open up a wider range of
audience.
