This document summarizes information about diabetes prevention through diet. It discusses that abnormal blood glucose levels can lead to diabetes. To prevent diabetes through diet, one should decrease excessive high-sugar and high-calorie intakes and increase intake of alternative carbohydrates like dietary fiber found in fruits, oatmeal, legumes and psyllium. Fiber helps regulate blood glucose by slowing absorption and promoting insulin release over a longer period.

Fibres….

Genetic related
Lifestyle and Diets
inactivity

8. How to prevent diabetes on diets
• Decrease excessive high-sugar / high-
calories intakes

adults need about 130g/ day of digestible
carbohydrate to support
• 6 ounces of grains
• 2.5 cups of vegetable
• 2 cups of fruit
• 3 cups of milk
13. • Make elimination more easily
cannot be digested totally , Left to large
intestine to absorb water
• slow glucose absorption from small intestine
Increase time of insulin release from the pancreas
