Typek flying local flag!
Soccer fever is running very high with the upcoming world cup and from everywhere calls
have come to support the local stars. Sappi Fine Paper and Typek has done just that and
joined in supporting our local team and icons.
The well known Typek brand has exchanged its bright red box and ream in an exciting
promotion that will boast the colours of the South African flag. Great care and detail were
considered in the design of the packaging to reflect the heritage of the Typek brand as well
as the national icon.
“The world cup is a fantastic event and we wanted to use the opportunity to share the
passion for paper in supporting our local heroes. It helps us to create a meaningful
consumer experience against the backdrop of the much anticipated world cup and to show
local is lekker. This is about being South African and the reflection of the beautiful, diverse
and exciting country we live in “says Bernhard Riegler, General Manager Marketing Sappi
Fine Paper.”
The new-look Typek ream and box is distributed to stationers, retailers, merchants and
corporates and the “flag ream” will be seen in many business environments for the duration
of the world cup. Displays of the ream have been incorporated into trade show stands in the
retail environment.
“The design entrenches the Typek brand promise of “paper that is part if your life”. It
provides another contact point for consumers to feel proud of buying local products. We
hope that our colleagues will be inspired to promote the product to their families and feel
part of this exciting phase”, says Madelaine Fourie, Brand Manager Sappi Fine Paper.
Dinga Mncube, Managing Director Sappi Fine Paper says, “As part of this promotion, we

and long service awards on Thursday 03 June 2010. The World Cup comes along once in a
