2. LANGUAGE
The Polish language is a West Slavic language
group spoken mostly in Poland. It is written
with the Latin alphabet, with great use of

Union and approximately 5,100 Hare Krishnas.
Over 60% of Poles go to church regularly.

In the country the four branches of Catholicism are
Armenian, Byzantine-Ukrainian neo-Uniate and
Roman Catholics. Roman Catholics represent the
majority and in 1998 exceeded 25 million
(approximately 28,000 parishes and 9,990 priests). In

spiritual associations. Pope John Paul II was Polish, so
the influence of Catholicism and its popularity should
